The Lead Director of Merchandising Operations, Business Acceleration at CVS Health is responsible for leading a team to develop data-driven strategies that enhance business performance. This role involves close collaboration with merchandising leadership to analyze market trends, vendor economics, and customer loyalty, ultimately shaping the retail experience in CVS stores. The position emphasizes a customer-first approach and requires strong analytical skills, creativity, and the ability to manage complex projects across various business units.
Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and manage a high-performing team
- Assess SKU/Vendor/Brand/Promotional incrementality and competitively benchmark
- Generate market, customer, and vendor insights
- Build strategy to support Merchant-led vendor negotiations
- Advise Category Manager partners on vendor agreements and contracts
- Conduct complex quantitative analysis and build analytical models
- Develop annual plans and budgets for category strategy and profit improvement
- Inspire creativity and new capability design
- Design initiative pilots and deploy in select stores to measure and assess
- Enact a customer-first perspective in problem-solving
- Partner with Supply Chain, Store Operations, and Finance to activate ideas
- Engage partners across Enterprise Teams to identify synergies
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Management Consulting, Retail/CPG, or Banking/Private Equity
- Bachelor's degree
- Mastery of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Nice-to-haves
- Specific experience in Retail Category Management, CPG, or Vendor Management
- Understanding of retail merchandising basics and organizational structures
- Experience with technical tools such as Tableau, SQL Assistant, VBA, Python, SAP, SAP BI, Teradata, Oracle
