About the position

The Lead Dishwasher at The Nash Casino is responsible for ensuring cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen, adhering to health department standards. This role involves training new team members, maintaining inventory, and ensuring the proper handling of kitchen equipment and supplies. The Lead Dishwasher plays a crucial role in providing excellent service to guests and maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Train all new Dishwasher Team Members.
  • Assist with the organization and proper storage of all kitchen's small wares, plates, glasses, and service ware.
  • Assist with maintaining inventory and organization of chemical supplies.
  • Assist with escalating issues with the dishwasher machine to Café Room Chef and Executive Chef.
  • Safely use all kitchen equipment and cleaning products in accordance with all SDS Sheets and departmental standards.
  • Understand and adhere to safe and sanitary work habits; handle, use, and store all chemicals properly.
  • Scrape, rinse, and load dishes and utensils into the dish machine.
  • Clean, sanitize, and maintain dish machines.
  • Clean, transport, and store all pots and pans, dining ware, silverware, and glassware used in the food and beverage operation.

  • Empty trash containers regularly.
  • Report any machine or equipment malfunctions to kitchen or department leadership.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized throughout the shift.
  • Report any suggestions, observed supply needs, or product deficiencies to department management.
  • Provide BIG Service to internal guests and ensure their complete satisfaction, including greeting and interacting with guests in a friendly and enthusiastic manner.
  • Develop and maintain professional, trusting, and positive working relationships with managers, supervisors, staff, coworkers, guests, and vendors.
  • Ensure that work activities are completed accurately, efficiently, and in a timely manner.
  • Work safely, following company safety policies and procedures, and report unsafe conditions.
  • Maintain regular attendance at scheduled shifts and staff meetings.
  • Maintain professionalism and a friendly demeanor throughout the workday.
  • Assist with training/mentoring new Team Members as requested.
  • Maintain all appearance standards in accordance with established uniform and appearance guidelines.
  • Inform the manager on duty of any irregularities and unusual situations when they occur.
  • Keep a friendly, calm, and helpful demeanor in high-stress situations and a fast-paced environment.
  • Display honesty and integrity in all interactions.
  • Work independently with little to no supervision or as part of a team.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must pass all required pre-screening and background checks.
  • Internal candidates must have been in their current position for at least six months and have no active disciplinary action during the last six months.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts, including day, swing, late-night, weekend, and holiday shifts as scheduled.
  • Must be able to obtain required work cards and non-gaming registration as required by the local jurisdiction.
