About the position

The Lead/Driver at Cook Children's Health Care System is responsible for assisting the store supervisor with daily operations, including opening and closing shifts, leading employees in the supervisor's absence, and ensuring high standards of customer service and food quality. This role involves food preparation, transaction processing, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment, as well as delivering food items using the department's catering van.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the store supervisor with daily operating procedures, including opening and closing shifts.
  • Lead employees during the supervisor's absence.
  • Assist the Chef and Sous Chef Supervisor with general operations.
  • Ensure service standards are met and surpassed by providing prompt service and quality products.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitized, and comfortable store environment.
  • Prep ingredients for the next day's production needs as assigned.
  • Process transactions through the cash register and maintain the daily cash drawer accurately.
  • Set up equipment in the store for service and maintain the prep area.
  • Deliver food items and supplies using the department catering van as needed.
  • Provide excellent customer service to ensure optimal customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent certificate.
  • Four years' experience in food preparation, handling, and presentation in a relevant setting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of weights and measures and ability to perform mathematical calculations for recipe conversions.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to perform physical duties including standing, walking, pushing up to 400# rolling carts, pulling, stooping, and lifting up to 50# containers.

Nice-to-haves

  • Twelve semester hours of food production courses preferred.
  • Acceptable driving record to obtain driving privileges at CCHCS.
