Lead DSP (Direct Support Professional)

About the position

The Lead Residential Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible for providing essential support and care to individuals with disabilities or special needs. This role focuses on enhancing the quality of life for clients, fostering independence, and promoting community integration. The Lead DSP will work closely with clients in various settings, ensuring their needs are met and that they receive the necessary support in both home and community environments.

Responsibilities

• Assist the residential program with keeping the houses staffed, cleaned, and supplied
• Assist the residential program with transportation of the clients to medical appointments
• Complete all duties of a DSP when covering shift work in the residential program
• Provide 24-hour care to clients, requiring the individual to stay awake for the entirety of the shift.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Valid Illinois driver's license
• Clear driving record
• Passing MVR
• Passing Criminal Background Check
• Pre-employment Drug Screen
• DSP or CNA experience preferred
• 1 year of caregiving experience required
