As a Lead Electrical Engineer specializing in Substation Design and Power Electronics (STATCOM/FACTS/HVDC) at Black & Veatch, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of energy infrastructure. This position is designed for a technical lead who will oversee FACTS projects across various voltage classes, including distribution, sub-transmission, and transmission levels. You will be responsible for utilizing your expertise to define project requirements, review deliverables, and collaborate with both internal teams and external stakeholders, including owners and OEM resources. Your role will require you to stay updated on safety and regulatory standards such as IEEE, IEC, NEC, NESC, NERC, and ISO/RTO, ensuring that all project aspects meet these critical guidelines. In addition to your technical responsibilities, you will be expected to conduct research to familiarize yourself with non-standard design aspects and convey complex technical information to team members with varying levels of expertise. Leading internal discussions with the owner engineering team will be essential to address technical and project management topics effectively. This hybrid position allows for flexibility, requiring candidates to be located or willing to relocate to any Black & Veatch U.S. Regional Office.
