The position involves leading electrical engineering projects primarily focused on nuclear power plants, requiring a multi-discipline interface and coordination among various engineering teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all project deliverables meet technical, quality, financial, and project control expectations. This includes initiating and conveying the scope of work to group members, defining deliverables such as calculations, specifications, drawings, and design changes, and reviewing the status and progress of group members to maintain project scope and budget while keeping the client informed. Routine status meetings and progress reports will be essential to track and resolve open items and emergent project issues, ensuring the timely completion of project deliverables. The role also entails leading the team through the detailed design phases of electrical engineering work, which includes coordinating with other disciplines. The candidate will develop project scopes, cost estimates, and schedules for complex electrical modifications at nuclear power plants, as well as prepare proposals for these modifications. Technical oversight and supervision of all electrical engineering activities are crucial, including the preparation of engineering design change packages to install, replace, or upgrade existing plant equipment, ensuring long-term equipment reliability. The candidate will also be responsible for engineering calculations supporting design change packages, equipment procurement specifications, and the bid review evaluation process for potential equipment vendors. Additionally, the position requires interfacing with clients to validate scope and ensure satisfaction, mentoring and guiding the development of the engineering group, and identifying client needs that may lead to strategic opportunities. The candidate will leverage strong client relationships to develop follow-on work from existing clients and prepare or coordinate multi-discipline proposals. This position is based on a hybrid work schedule, requiring in-office work three days per week.
