About the position

As a Lead Electrical Engineer at Honeywell, you will play a pivotal role in leading and managing electrical engineering projects that are crucial to the company's success. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the design, development, and implementation of advanced electrical systems and components. In this role, you will be expected to design, build, test, and troubleshoot analog and mixed signal circuits. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing low noise analog circuit designs, particularly for stabilizing lasers and locking multiple lasers to meet high precision requirements. Familiarity with simulation tools such as P-Spice is essential, and experience in designing phase lock loops is highly desired. You will also support optical and mechanical design efforts, requiring strong communication skills to prepare and deliver briefings and presentations. A hands-on approach to laboratory work and a solid understanding of optics-electronics integration will be crucial for success in this position. Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage electrical engineering projects.
  • Oversee the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems and components.
  • Provide technical expertise, guidance, and support to the engineering team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to drive innovation and improve processes.
  • Design, build, test, and troubleshoot analog and mixed signal circuits.
  • Develop low noise analog circuit designs for stabilizing lasers.
  • Lock multiple lasers to meet high precision requirements.
  • Prepare and deliver briefings and presentations.
  • Support optical and mechanical design efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
  • 6+ years of experience in electrical engineering.
  • 1+ years of prior experience in a lead or senior engineering role.
  • Must be a U.S. Person due to ITAR restrictions.
  • Knowledge of VHDL/Verilog language and FPGA interface.
  • Experience with analysis and design of high accuracy analog electronics circuits used in optical sensors and systems containing lasers and resonance servo loops.
  • Ability to take a design through build and checkout in the laboratory using various test equipment: lock-in amplifiers, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
  • Proficiency in electrical design software and tools (P-Spice, Mentor Graphics, etc.).
  • Proactive problem identification and resolution skills.
  • Positive, solution-oriented leadership.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading technically complex development projects to production.
  • Knowledge in inertial sensing and navigation domain.
  • Experience with inertial sensor design and development.
  • Self-motivation and initiative.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with simulation tools like P-Spice.
  • Familiarity with optics-electronics integration.
