About the position

Integrated Power Services (IPS) is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer for its Cleveland, Ohio service center. This position is pivotal in delivering exceptional service and technical expertise in the field of electrical engineering, particularly focusing on motor and generator design and repair. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of innovative repair services and electrical designs, ensuring that all solutions meet customer specifications and industry standards. This role requires a blend of deep technical knowledge, leadership skills, and project management capabilities to effectively support both in-shop and field repairs. The Lead Electrical Engineer will actively participate in the IPS UCE tier meeting process, providing essential electrical engineering and technical support to the Cleveland EMD team. This includes performing Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) to develop engineered solutions and offering technical consultation to the sales team. The engineer will also be responsible for implementing quality improvement actions and ensuring compliance with operating policies and procedures. A strong emphasis will be placed on enforcing safety protocols and adhering to regulatory requirements in all engineering and shop activities. In addition to technical responsibilities, the role demands soft skills such as innovative thinking, adaptability to changing market conditions, collaborative leadership, resilience, ethical conduct, accountability, and a continuous improvement mindset. Responsibilities

  • Provide electrical technical support to customers, repair shops, and field service activities
  • Reverse engineer motor and generator designs
  • Ensure that repairs meet customer specifications, expectations, and applicable industry standards
  • Perform Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) to develop engineered solutions
  • Provide technical support and consultation to the Cleveland sales team
  • Assist with the implementation of quality improvement actions
  • Enforce strict safety protocols and compliance with regulatory requirements in all engineering and shop activities
  • Utilize Continuous Improvement Process Solution (CIPS) tools and processes to enhance quality and productivity

Requirements

  • Experience with motor and/or generator design and/or repair
