About the position

The Lead Electrician Project Engineer will play a crucial role in the marine industry by leading projects related to the development and upgrading of electrical systems for various marine vessels. This position requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in marine electrical engineering, responsible for overseeing projects from the initial request for quotation (RFQ) stage through to installation, testing, and compliance. The role demands a strong commitment to quality and adherence to client specifications, often under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage electrical projects for marine vessels and floating structures.
• Serve as the Engineer of Record (EoR) for assigned projects.
• Oversee projects from RFQ stage to final installation and compliance testing.
• Ensure all projects meet quality standards and client specifications.
• Work on a variety of electrical projects including shore power, alternative marine power, and communication systems.
• Conduct on-site work on vessels in port and deepwater locations.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years' experience in marine electrical systems installation and maintenance.
• Experience with electrical equipment aboard commercial ships such as Tugboats and Container Ships.
• Knowledge of shipyard safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
• Intermediate to advanced understanding of Electrical Theory.
• Ability to use a Multimeter and perform basic load calculations.
• Familiarity with 480VAC 3-Phase distribution systems and circuit breaker sizing.
• Experience with motor controllers and Variable Frequency Drives (VFD).
• Ability to interpret schematics and circuit diagrams.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with hydraulic systems and terminal wide power systems.
• Familiarity with mobile crane electrical supply systems.
