About the position

The Lead Engineer Data & Analytics at AbbVie is responsible for planning, designing, and implementing analytics and business intelligence reporting solutions for the operations organizations. This role involves managing project teams, budgets, and resources while collaborating with stakeholders to understand and address strategic business analytics requirements. The position requires expertise in supply chain processes and modern data warehousing technologies, ensuring comprehensive software quality assurance and continuous improvement in business reporting processes.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for planning, requirements, design, implementation of analytics & business intelligence reporting solutions for the operations organizations.
  • Manage the project team and budget, controlling resources, expenses, and capital costs against the budget.
  • Partner with functional and business stakeholders to understand strategic business analytics requirements and provide guidance in driving solutions.
  • Utilize operations expertise in end-to-end supply chain business processes.
  • Develop test plans, test cases, and user-level automation scripts using tools such as Selenium.
  • Manage and oversee robust solutions, aligning priorities across stakeholders and communicating results.
  • Align department priorities, determine critical success factors, and evaluate initiatives based on fit with strategies.
  • Establish and manage collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders within the Business, BTS, and implementation partners.
  • Utilize modern data warehouses such as Hadoop/Data Lake Concepts, Redshift, and data ingestion mechanisms.
  • Ensure comprehensive software QA test coverage and assist team leads in planning and scoping of projects.
  • Work on strategies aimed to improve business reporting and planning processes utilizing continuous improvement across functions.
  • Responsible for planning, designing, development, and execution of both manual and automated test plans, processes, and scripts.
  • Lead the strategy to evaluate purchasing supplier management analytics and business intelligence solutions.
  • Lead multiple development teams and manage solutions for different analytical and operational reporting needs.
  • Utilize software development life-cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
  • Act as BTS liaison with functional and business teams, understanding business strategy and needs related to reporting analytics.
  • Provide project status updates to leadership BTS team in prioritization and project strategies.
  • Partner with Enterprise BTS organization to evaluate and establish analytics best practices and solutions.
  • Provide thought leadership on consolidation of reporting platforms for operational & analytics data visualization.

Requirements

  • Must possess a Bachelor's degree or foreign academic equivalent in Applied Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Development, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related field of study with 5 years of related experience.
  • In the alternative, employer will accept a Master's degree in lieu of a Bachelor's degree in the aforementioned fields with at least two years of experience in developing test plans, test cases, and user-level automation scripts.
  • Experience in ensuring comprehensive software QA test coverage and assisting team leads in planning and scoping of projects.
  • Experience in planning, designing, development, and execution of both manual and automated test plans, processes, and scripts.
  • Familiarity with software development life-cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
