About the position

The Lead Engineer for Electrical Components in Renewable Energy Grid Solutions is responsible for executing development projects that align with financial, performance, and time-to-market goals. This role involves leading design, analysis, and project management tasks while providing technical support for existing products in production. A strong technical background, leadership mindset, and critical thinking skills are essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of new high voltage dead-tank circuit breakers, focusing on arc interruption and dielectric/power testing.
  • Utilize analytic and simulation software such as ANSYS to define key design parameters, particularly for alternative green gas technology.
  • Prepare and present project updates to R&D leaders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones are met and specifications are fulfilled.
  • Design components and subassemblies, ensuring manufacturability, assembly ease, cost-effectiveness, and quality.
  • Plan and oversee type tests according to IEEE and IEC standards for circuit breakers and components, coordinating with R&D Test Engineers.
  • Provide technical support for existing products and troubleshoot issues as needed.
  • Develop and execute action plans to address problems and additional tasks.
  • Review and approve detailed engineering component and assembly drawings.
  • Ensure proper documentation of technical data generated for projects is consistent with engineering policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university or college.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in high voltage product design, development, and testing.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an engineering position, including experience with 3D CAD software (e.g., CREO, SolidWorks, Inventor).
