About the position

The Lead Engineer - Software Application is responsible for the development, management, and maintenance of software tools and applications within Avangrid. This role requires a highly skilled individual with a strong technical background in software development, excellent leadership abilities, and a passion for innovation. The position involves coordinating with various departments during tool development and providing technical direction and support to the development team.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, implementation and maintenance of the Integrated System Planning Tools across Avangrid.
• Provide technical direction and support to the development team, including code reviews, design discussions, and troubleshooting.
• Mentor and provide technical support to other team members.
• Provide technical support and training to the users of the tools.
• Coordinate with other departments during the development of tools.
• Identify and implement best practices and process improvements to enhance the efficiency and quality of the development process.
• Provide technical assistance and consulting to other departments as necessary.

Requirements

• BS Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
• 5-7 years of relevant experience
• Proficiency with C#, .NET Core for server-side development
• Proficiency with React, REST API, JSX, JSON, Typescript, Javascript and CSS for client-side development
• Experience with SQL like MS SQL Server or PostgreSQL, including complex queries, data modeling, data management, data manipulation and performance tuning
• Experience with Entity Framework Core (LINQ)
• Experience with LDAP
• AWS Experience
• Version control (GitHub)
• Experience with Unit Testing or Automated Testing
