Your responsibilities will include supporting, training, and inspecting the performance of the Engineering staff to ensure that all procedures are completed to the hotel's high standards. You will work closely with the Director of Engineering to schedule work and set priorities, and in their absence, you will make decisions and act as the backup for emergency calls. Your day-to-day tasks will involve maintaining complete knowledge of departmental policies and service procedures, ensuring that standards are upheld at a superior level. You will be expected to anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly, and maintain positive guest relations at all times. This includes resolving guest complaints and ensuring their satisfaction. You will also monitor and maintain the cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas, conduct weekly inventory on equipment and supplies, and prepare requisitions for reordering shortages. In addition, you will be responsible for conducting building rounds, checking for potential fire hazards, and documenting pertinent information in the Engineering Logbook. You will collect, prioritize, and coordinate the completion of work orders received from hotel departments, ensuring timely completion of tasks such as replacing light switches, resetting circuit breakers, and assisting with plumbing repairs. Your role will also involve monitoring and maintaining all laundry and kitchen equipment, as well as guest rooms, ensuring compliance with the preventive maintenance program. As a Lead Engineer, you will prepare and distribute work assignments for staff, communicate changes as they arise, and assist staff with their job functions to ensure optimum standards and efficient operation. You will conduct training for staff as assigned and ensure all assignments are completed before associates sign out.
