About the position

The Strategic Aerospace Department in the Defense & Intelligence Solutions Division is seeking an experienced engineer to support the USAF by providing engineering services that enhance the capabilities of bombers, tankers, and heavy platforms. The role involves working with a multidisciplinary team to execute complex R&D programs that contribute to national security, focusing on the development of printed circuit boards (PCBs) and interconnect systems for avionics flight electronic hardware.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Electrical and Mechanical engineers to develop printed circuit boards and interconnect systems for PCBs.
• Work in a team environment as well as independently to complete assigned tasks with direct supervision.
• Develop Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) and generate library components.
• Ensure project schedules are met, which may require additional hours.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, or an Associates or Bachelors degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology or Aeronautics Technology.
• 10-15 years of experience in printed wiring board design for those with a Bachelors degree.
• 25 years of experience with an advanced working knowledge of Mentor Graphics PADS Professional and/or Xpedition for those without a Bachelors degree.
• Experience in designing low level and complex PWB designs is desired.
• Basic understanding of configuration management and electronic development methods is required.
• Good understanding of Signal Integrity and mechanical aptitude is desired.
• Prior knowledge of IPC standards, Digital, Mixed Signal, and RF electronics PWB designs is required.
• A valid/clear driver's license is required.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with interconnect principles and practices.
• Familiarity with electronic development methods.
