About the position

The Lead Enterprise Data Governance Professional at Humana is responsible for advancing data governance practices across the enterprise. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to implement best practices, ensuring data quality, and supporting critical initiatives related to data management. The position requires strong leadership skills, emotional intelligence, and the ability to navigate complex organizational dynamics to promote effective data stewardship and governance.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and enable data governance best practices across the enterprise.
  • Guide and consult with the enterprise data stewardship community, including Data Stewards and IT Custodians.
  • Evaluate and validate the criticality of data and assess data quality and sources.
  • Implement, track, and monitor remediation activities related to data governance.
  • Drive the collection and maintenance of key business metadata, including data definitions and quality rules.
  • Socialize the value of the Data Governance program and enforce data policies and standards.
  • Measure performance against data governance and stewardship KPIs and address exceptions to thresholds.
  • Define support structures and processes for data stewardship implementation.
  • Act as a liaison to the enterprise Data Governance Leadership Council and subcommittees.
  • Provide advanced analytics to support risk metrics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with data governance practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale, visible programs with multiple project teams.
  • Passion for improving consumer experiences.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior data governance and/or data quality technology experience.
  • Data Steward Certification.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and Power BI.
