About the position

WSP is seeking a Lead Environmental Engineer to join their Earth & Environment remediation team in Costa Mesa, CA. This role involves providing guidance in data collection and analysis for environmental projects, managing tasks within larger projects, and ensuring compliance with regulations. The engineer will also perform design work for environmental remediation systems and oversee field activities related to construction and remediation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from various sources for remedial design and construction.
  • Assist with engineering review of permit applications and engineering design plans to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Perform design of environmental remediation systems and water/wastewater systems.
  • Conduct field oversight of remediation or construction subcontractors and document field activities.
  • Compile, organize, and evaluate field and laboratory data for technical reports.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical reports and presentations on environmental issues.
  • Interact with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and clients in a professional manner.
  • Manage time and priorities to meet project budgets and schedules.

Requirements

  • BS degree in civil/environmental/chemical engineering from an ABET accredited university.
  • Professional Engineer's registration as a Civil Engineer in California is desired or the ability to become registered within one year.
  • 7 to 10 years of relevant post-education experience in environmental investigations and remediation design.
  • Strong analytical, technical writing, organization, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a project team.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.

Nice-to-haves

  • MS degree in civil/environmental/chemical engineering from an ABET accredited university.
  • AutoCADD experience.
