About the position

The Lead Event Chef at Thomas Preti Events to Savor is responsible for overseeing the culinary production team during high-end, off-premise events. Responsibilities

  • Manage the kitchen during large-scale, off-premise catering events.
  • Supervise event cooks and maintain communication with front-of-house event leads.
  • Execute a premiere level of service at events.
  • Ensure health and safety work practices with kitchen equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and polished appearance while adhering to food safety standards.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Keep a positive attitude and strong attention to detail.

Requirements

  • Minimum two years' experience managing a kitchen during large-scale catering events.
  • Working knowledge of culinary techniques, measuring methods, ingredients, and a variety of cuisines.
  • Ability to work weekends and evenings as necessary.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and hard-working.
  • Must own a complete knife kit and have references of culinary background.

Nice-to-haves

  • New York City Food Handler's Certificate is a plus.
  • Experience cooking in a proofer box.
