About the position

The Lead Experience Designer at Ford's Electric Vehicles, Digital and Design (EVDD) team is responsible for guiding project teams in creating meaningful and connected user experiences for electric vehicle buyers and owners. This role emphasizes human-centered design, translating user insights into physical touchpoints, and collaborating with various teams to deliver innovative vehicle experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Lead experience design project teams using design thinking methods to create vehicle experience concepts that address user needs and ensure business success.
  • Ensure the human is at the center of all decisions by representing the user's voice on project teams.
  • Connect user insights to opportunities and solutions through design principles, journey maps, and other design methods.
  • Clearly communicate design recommendations to leaders and diverse stakeholders to create excitement and demonstrate the rationale behind the experiences.
  • Collaborate with partner teams to complete key deliverables for product development process milestones.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Design, Human Factors, Research, Anthropology, or related field (preferred).
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience in the design, development, and launch of B2B or B2C facing physical products through human-centered design methods.
  • 2+ years leading teams.
