About the position

The Lead Field Service Technician at Qualus is responsible for testing, maintaining, and repairing various electrical equipment, including low and medium voltage circuit breakers, transformers, and switchgear. This role involves leading operations in both shop and field environments, ensuring the reliability of essential electrical systems. The position offers an opportunity to apply technical expertise in a collaborative setting, contributing to the advancement of power services.

Responsibilities

• Performing testing on low and medium voltage breakers including Megger, Ductor, Hi-Pot, Hi-Current, and Timing tests.
• Completing mechanical work and repairs on breakers, including tear down, refurbishment and parts replacement.
• Utilizing and accurately reading meters.
• Reading schematics and wiring drawings.
• Troubleshooting circuit controls.
• Reading and plotting time-current curves.
• Reading and understanding of electrical one-line drawings and symbols.
• Testing power and current transformers, including Power Factor and TTR.
• Accurately and consistently documenting using Power DB.
• Able to work with electrical testing equipment and tools.

Requirements

• 5-7 years' related experience in power plants, industrial services, primary power distribution and related protection and control schemes.
• Minimum 2 years of industrial or commercial power systems experience.
• Licensures and Certifications: NETA 2, 3, or 4 preferred.
• Education: High School Diploma.
• Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills, business acumen, job management ability.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerDB, Word, Excel and Outlook).
• Valid Driver's license and good driving record.
