About the position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Finance Analyst to spearhead the execution of Recovery Plan forecasting. This role is critical in demonstrating the firm's behavior under various systemic and idiosyncratic stress scenarios, as well as assessing the feasibility and effectiveness of management options that could be employed to restore confidence or financial viability. The Analyst will be responsible for leading the end-to-end coordination and development of comprehensive financial forecasts, which include full balance sheets and income statements under different stress scenarios. In this position, you will maintain and enhance complex financial forecasting models and methodologies, ensuring they are robust and adaptable to changing conditions. Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with various teams, including Liquidity, Capital, Corporate Development, Line of Business Finance teams, Risk Management Group (RMG), Regulatory Reporting and Policy Office (RRPO), Balance Sheet and Interest Rate Risk Management (BSIRRM), Financial Risk Management (FRM), and Corporate Tax. You will also be tasked with reviewing technical challenges that require a nuanced evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented events. Decision-making will be a significant part of your role, particularly in maintaining effective and efficient reporting delivery that meets internal control standards. You will have the opportunity to recommend improvements and influence professionals at all levels, including more experienced managers, thereby playing a pivotal role in the financial health of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end coordination and development of financial forecasts under various stress scenarios.
  • Maintain and enhance complex financial forecasting models and methodologies.
  • Collaborate with various teams including Liquidity, Capital, Corporate Development, and LOB Finance teams.
  • Review technical challenges requiring evaluation of multiple factors including intangibles or unprecedented factors.
  • Make decisions to maintain effective and efficient reporting delivery that meets internal control standards.
  • Recommend opportunities and influence all levels of professionals including more experienced managers.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Finance experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
  • BS/BA degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Analytics, or Reporting.
  • Strong understanding of the strategic, financial, capital, liquidity, risk, and credit sides of banking.
  • Prior experience in Corporate Development or FP&A at a large/complex financial institution.
  • Strong communication and project management skills.
  • Ability to articulate and present financials, projects, and data clearly and succinctly with the ability to influence decisions.
  • Proficiency with Essbase for reporting and analysis; experience using Power BI and/or Alteryx is a plus.
  • Expert in Excel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Corporate Development or FP&A at the enterprise or line of business/divisional level at a large/complex financial institution.
  • Experience with financial modeling and forecasting under stress scenarios.
