About the position

The Lead Finance Manager at Baker Hughes is responsible for providing financial planning and analysis to support corporate, business, or P&L functions within the organization. This role requires a deep understanding of financial methodologies and the ability to advise management on critical business decisions. The position involves overseeing the business cycle, managing budgets and forecasts, analyzing performance, and driving initiatives to improve profitability and cash generation.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the business cycle including 3-year plans, budgets, and forecasts at each organizational level.
  • Managing quarterly closing activities, annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes.
  • Analyzing performance and proposing action plans to improve profitability and cash generation.
  • Defining KPIs to measure performance across various organizational areas such as manufacturing, R&D, engineering, and supply chain.
  • Driving weekly pacing calls with site leaders and operational teams to ensure progress of orders and P&L performance against estimates.
  • Performing detailed variance analysis of costs and revenue versus budgets to ensure alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Reviewing and reporting the site's standard variable margin (SVM) and contribution margin (CM).
  • Leading order margin reviews to define site margin for revenue recognition purposes.
  • Analyzing bullet train costs and proposing action plans to improve productivity and implement corrective measures as needed.
  • Performing other closing and reporting tasks as assigned by the team lead.
  • Working on initiatives to improve processes and procedures for the new VTC site.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting specialty.
  • 6-7 years of experience in Finance or Accounting.
  • Advanced qualifications such as a Master's degree or CPA/CMA are preferred.
  • Relevant experience in manufacturing finance is valued.
  • Diverse knowledge of Financial Planning and Analysis operations.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to lead and motivate others.
  • Strong analytical ability with attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build trusting relationships with customers, teams, and stakeholders.
  • Experience managing the business cycle through planning and budgeting forecasts in a multi-level organization.
  • Experience creating and implementing KPIs to measure performance and drive improvements.
  • Ability to develop strategic processes for data management to uncover performance and financial insights.
  • Experience leading and coordinating multiple projects in a global-matrix organization.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to convey complex financial content to diverse audiences.
