About the position

At Dycom Industries, as a Lead Financial Analyst, you'll play a crucial part in the analysis and review of data from over 40 operating subsidiaries. This role is pivotal in driving process improvement initiatives, enhancing the overall effectiveness of our financial planning and analysis functions. You will be at the forefront of ensuring that our financial operations are efficient and aligned with the company's strategic goals. Your responsibilities will include conducting monthly in-depth reviews of subsidiary forecasts and backlog submissions, which will require you to develop a strong understanding of each subsidiary's operational profile and the customer base they serve. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with subsidiary controllers and cross-functional teams to gather relevant financial data, ensuring accuracy in forecasts. You will also be responsible for ensuring that monthly forecast and backlog submissions from subsidiaries comply with job costing principles and financial guidelines for reporting and projection purposes. Additionally, you will develop and maintain operational and financial reports that highlight variances, key financial trends, drivers, and performance indicators to support strategic planning for the enterprise. Identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing best practices to optimize efficiency and effectiveness will be a significant part of your role. You will assist with system implementations to support the changing needs of the business and perform ad-hoc reporting to support periodic business development deliverables. Responsibilities

  • Develop a strong understanding of each subsidiary's operational profile and customer base.
  • Collaborate with subsidiary controllers and cross-functional teams to gather relevant financial data.
  • Ensure monthly forecast and backlog submissions comply with job costing principles and financial guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain operational and financial reports highlighting variances, key financial trends, drivers, and performance indicators.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
  • Assist with system implementations to support the changing needs of the business.
  • Perform ad-hoc reporting to support periodic business development deliverables.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of proven FP&A experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Comprehensive understanding of GAAP and Job Costing.
  • Technical expertise in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and financial systems or databases.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • Apt to work independently and efficiently to prioritize objectives and meet deadlines.
  • Commitment to innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Experience working for a publicly traded company preferred.
