The analyst will also act as a consultant to various areas within the organization, supporting the financial goals and objectives of Corewell Health. The position encompasses a variety of financial activities, including budgeting, forecasting, building financial models, assisting with financial planning, and conducting research and analysis. The Lead Financial Analyst will assist the Controller in preparing data for presentation to executive leadership. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to present financial information and models in a clear and concise manner. Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint is also required to effectively communicate financial insights.

Responsibilities

  • Perform statistical, cost, and financial variance analysis of data to evaluate financial performance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Provide guidance on business issues including financial and profitability analysis.
  • Develop solutions to problems of unusual complexity, requiring a high degree of ingenuity, creativity, and innovation.
  • Serve as a consultant to assigned areas of the organization to support financial goals and objectives.
  • Perform a variety of financial activities including budgeting, forecasting, building financial models, and assisting with financial planning.
  • Assist the Controller with the preparation of data presented to executive leadership.
  • Present financial information and models in a concise and easily comprehensible manner.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • 5 years of relevant experience in Finance, Accounting, or related work.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in Business or Finance.
  • Formal or informal leadership experience.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) - State of Michigan.
