About the position

The World Economic Forum is seeking a Lead for Financial Markets and Resilience Initiatives within the Centre for Financial and Monetary System (FMS). This role is pivotal in shaping the future of the financial system by engaging with a diverse set of stakeholders, including public and private sectors, to foster cooperation and drive positive impact on systemic issues. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading Centre-specific content that focuses on financial system stability, the evolution of capital markets, and the democratization of investment opportunities. This position requires a strategic thinker who can manage initiatives effectively, ensuring alignment with the Forum's mission and objectives. In this role, you will scope, design, and develop initiatives that promote the Forum's goals while managing multiple workstreams and ensuring deliverables are met. You will also be responsible for reporting on initiative progress and impact, as well as leading the creation of various communication strategies, including white papers, blog posts, and social media outreach. Your ability to engage with executive stakeholders and leverage the Forum's networks will be crucial in driving the success of these initiatives. The position requires a collaborative approach, working closely with internal teams such as Account Management and Business Development, as well as external partners, including governments, academia, and civil society. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial services, excellent strategic acumen, and the ability to build relationships across cultures. This role is based in either New York or San Francisco and requires on-site work three days a week, with a willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Scope, design, and develop initiatives that align with the Forum's and Centre's mission.
  • Execute and deliver on existing initiatives, ensuring deliverables are on track across multiple workstreams.
  • Coordinate with internal colleagues and external consultants to ensure rigorous initiative management governance.
  • Report and monitor initiative progress, impact, and evaluation.
  • Lead the creation of deliverables such as white papers, blog posts, and communication strategies across various media channels.
  • Identify and develop outreach and engagement plans for potential and existing Forum partners.
  • Engage executive stakeholders from both private and public sectors on strategic deliverables and convenings.
  • Leverage Forum networks, events, and public engagement opportunities for initiative outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, or a related field; Master's degree is a plus.
  • 5+ years of professional work experience in public and private sectors, particularly in banking, capital markets, or investment management.
  • Professional experience and existing relationships with stakeholders in developed and emerging economies.
  • Outstanding track record in account management and/or business development at the C-suite level.
  • Excellent strategic acumen with the ability to operationalize effectively.
  • Ability to build strong internal relationships and networks in a complex, collaborative environment.
  • Energetic, self-directed, customer-oriented team player with a mission-oriented mindset.
  • Fluency in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills; additional foreign languages are a plus.
  • Willingness to travel 25% of the time.
