Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Financial Reporting Analyst to join our Regulatory Interpretations Team. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the company adheres to current and future regulations related to regulatory reporting and capital treatment of business transactions. The successful candidate will work closely with both internal and external stakeholders, contributing to a collaborative team environment that provides the final Wells Fargo viewpoint on regulatory matters. The team regularly advises senior management on interpretations and discussions regarding regulatory compliance, making this position critical for the organization’s adherence to financial regulations. The Lead Financial Reporting Analyst will be responsible for evaluating and interpreting current and proposed regulations and reporting requirements. This includes providing regulatory capital and reporting consultation, with a strong emphasis on credit risk (Y-14 reporting) and/or securitizations. The analyst will also provide technical transaction advisory assistance on various company and line of business transactions, ensuring that corporate and business unit executive management is educated on current regulatory capital and reporting issues. In addition, the role involves active participation in the implementation of complex regulatory capital and reporting projects, managing aspects of these projects, and participating in or leading cross-functional teams. The analyst will develop, implement, maintain, and communicate regulatory capital policies, practices, and procedures, recommending changes based on updates in regulatory guidance. Furthermore, the analyst will review and provide input on quarterly and annual financial data for regulatory reports, including consolidated and subsidiary financial statements, footnotes, and other external disclosures. The position also requires participation in the preparation and review of comment letters and correspondence to regulatory standard setters, serving as a liaison for regulatory capital and reporting issues with both internal and external audit staffs, as well as banking regulators. The analyst will provide or assist with in-depth business analysis and develop long-term strategies to optimize business line or company performance, while also participating in the review and analysis for critical remediation of regulatory reporting issues. Active participation in industry and peer groups to influence the regulatory standard-setting process is also expected.
