About the position

The Lead Financial Systems Analyst position at the Department of Defense Accounting Systems involves serving as a senior technical advisor responsible for the interpretation, administration, and implementation of travel-related laws and regulations. The role requires effective communication of the organization's mission and values, ensuring integration into team goals and objectives, and monitoring the status and quality of work related to travel claims. The analyst will also facilitate team initiatives and consensus-building activities among team members.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a senior technical travel entitlement advisor/analyst responsible for the interpretation, administration, and implementation of travel-related laws and regulations.
• Communicate the organization's mission, vision, and values to the team and ensure they are integrated into team goals, objectives, work plans, products, and services.
• Ensure the team is integrated into goals, objectives, work plans, products, and services related to travel claims.
• Monitor and report on the status and progress of work, checking work in progress and upon completion for quality and adherence to instructions.
• Serve as coach, facilitator, and/or negotiator in coordinating team initiatives and in consensus-building activities among team members.

Requirements

• One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the federal service, demonstrating the ability to perform the duties of the position.
• Specialized experience includes reviewing/analyzing financial management methods related to travel pay, possessing knowledge of travel regulations, and making recommendations for process improvements.
