About the position

The Lead Fire Alarm Technician at Western States Fire Protection Company is responsible for overseeing the installation, programming, and troubleshooting of fire alarm systems. This role requires strong communication skills, a professional demeanor, and the ability to manage projects from start to finish while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The technician will work closely with clients, engineers, and contractors to ensure successful project execution and adherence to applicable codes.

Responsibilities

• Site verifications of fire alarm installations
• Analysis of blue prints
• Coordination with other disciplines, engineers, general contractors and end users
• Interact with clients, field personnel and Fire Marshals
• Installation of fire alarm equipment

Requirements

• NICET I certification or willingness to receive the certification within 1 year
• OSHA 30 certification is a plus
• Manufacturers certificates preferred
• 5 years service or install experience preferred
• Solid knowledge of NFPA 72, Factory Mutual and applicable codes is mandatory
• Ability to work independently and in a group/training environment
• Knowledgeable with programming and troubleshooting multiple fire alarm panel manufacturers
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Understanding of expenses and schedules
• Possess a valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the state
• Willingness to pass a post-offer drug test, background and reference check
