About the position

Vance Outdoors is seeking a Lead Sales Associate for our Firearms department. This position is primarily responsible for sales and assisting the department manager or store manager by performing various duties. The Lead Sales Associate will assist with customer service, inventory management, and compliance with regulations regarding the sale of firearms. The role also includes supervising a team of 15-40 employees, ensuring a positive work environment, and adhering to company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assists with all aspects of customer service for internal and external customers.
• Handles customer and employee issues, communicating with management as necessary.
• Assists with inventory management and compliance with ATF requirements.
• Promotes a positive culture within the department/store.
• Coordinates department sales associates’ work schedules to ensure adequate staffing.
• Opens and closes stores and responds to security issues during business hours.
• Manages or backs up all jobs within the store as necessary.
• Follows all company policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
• Knowledge of POS Systems, Payroll Systems, Internet Software, Spreadsheet Software (Excel), and Word Processing Software (Word).
