About the position

The Lead Firefighter at ASRC Federal Field Services is responsible for leading firefighting operations at Vance AFB, ensuring the safety and effectiveness of fire suppression and rescue efforts. This role involves directing crew members, conducting training, and overseeing the maintenance of fire vehicles and equipment. The Lead Firefighter assumes command during emergencies and is crucial in maintaining crew proficiency and certification.

Responsibilities

• Respond and direct crew members in structural and aircraft firefighting and first aid activities.
• Ensure the safe arrival of the crew and vehicle at emergency scenes.
• Direct fire suppression and rescue efforts of the crew.
• Assume command at the scene until relieved by a more senior fire authority.
• Direct inspection and maintenance of fire vehicles and equipment.
• Conduct crew training to ensure proficiency and certification.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 12 months of certified FES Driver/Operator experience
• 3 years of Fire Service experience
• Firefighter I and II certifications accredited by IFSAC or Pro Board
• Fire Instructor I certification accredited by IFSAC or Pro Board
• Fire Inspector I certification accredited by IFSAC or Pro Board
• Hazardous Materials Operations certification with Mission Specific Competency, PPE, and Product Control accredited by IFSAC or Pro Board
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.

Nice-to-haves

• Incident Safety Officer certification (to be obtained within 6 months of hire)
• Airport firefighter certification (to be obtained within 12 months of hire)
• National Registry and Oklahoma state Emergency Medical Responder or EMT certification (to be obtained within 12 months of hire).
