About the position
The Fleet Service Center Lead Mechanic is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of vehicle repairs and maintenance at the Fleet Service Center. This role involves performing and directing preventative maintenance and diagnostics on a variety of vehicles, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and managing a team of mechanics to prioritize and complete repair orders efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and diagnostics on all types of vehicles and attachments.
- Provide direction to other mechanics in performing repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Manage daily operations at the Fleet Service Center, coordinating with all shifts and personnel.
- Prioritize repair orders based on equipment needs and urgency.
- Assign work to mechanics and review completed work for accuracy and completeness.
- Process emergency repair requests when necessary and cover for parts inventory controller absences.
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years experience as an automotive mechanic.
- Class A commercial driver's license (tanker endorsement is a plus).
- Class 7 Pennsylvania state inspection license.
- Section 609 refrigeration license.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
