About the position

Lumen is seeking a Lead FP&A Analyst who will play a crucial role in driving business outcomes by partnering closely with business leadership. This position is designed for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are motivated by the challenge of delivering insightful analysis and reporting. The Lead FP&A Analyst will be responsible for understanding business performance, analyzing financial results, and identifying opportunities for improvement. This role requires a hands-on approach to financial analysis, leveraging deep knowledge of the business and its performance drivers to generate actionable insights. The successful candidate will proactively conduct rigorous financial analysis, utilizing analytical tools and innovative thinking to drive understanding of Lumen's financial performance. This includes analyzing key trends, explaining variances to targets, and building insightful reporting to monitor financial metrics. The Lead FP&A Analyst will also streamline existing reporting processes using tools such as Excel, Power BI, and Power Query. In addition to analytical responsibilities, the Lead FP&A Analyst will build strong partnerships with business stakeholders, ensuring effective communication of opportunities and risks. Collaboration across multiple finance and business teams is essential to share insights and drive outcomes. This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of Lumen while expanding personal skillsets and impact within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively conduct rigorous and innovative financial analysis to generate actionable insights.
  • Leverage deep knowledge of the business and the drivers of business performance to drive understanding of Lumen's financial performance.
  • Analyze results and explain variance to targets, building insightful reporting to monitor key financial metrics.
  • Streamline existing reporting through tools such as Excel, Power BI, and Power Query.
  • Drive strong partnerships with business stakeholders, building rapport and understanding their business performance.
  • Communicate effectively to ensure opportunities and risks are understood and addressed proactively.
  • Collaborate proactively across multiple Lumen finance and business teams to share insights and drive outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance or similar field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of pertinent experience in the technology (or similar) industry.
  • Skilled at financial data analytics and modeling; savvy in solving complicated data and analytical challenges.
  • Demonstrated thought leadership that drives value creation for the business.
  • Effective communicator; effective at building stakeholder relationships.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple deadlines and deliverables.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience as a Finance business partner in the technology industry.
  • Skilled with advanced Microsoft Excel functionality plus other analytical tools (e.g., Power Query, Power BI, SAP, and/or SQL).
