About the position

Lumen is seeking a motivated Lead FP&A Analyst who will play a crucial role in driving business outcomes by partnering closely with business leadership. The Lead FP&A Analyst will be responsible for conducting rigorous financial analysis to generate actionable insights that will inform business decisions. In this role, the Lead FP&A Analyst will leverage their deep knowledge of the business and the drivers of performance to analyze financial results, explain variances to targets, and build insightful reporting to monitor key financial metrics. The analyst will utilize tools such as Excel, Power BI, and Power Query to streamline existing reporting processes and enhance the accuracy of financial projections. Building strong partnerships with business stakeholders is essential, as the analyst will need to understand their performance and ensure that opportunities and risks are proactively addressed. Collaboration is key in this position, as the Lead FP&A Analyst will work across multiple finance and business teams to share insights and drive outcomes. Responsibilities

  • Proactively conduct rigorous and innovative financial analysis to generate actionable insights.
  • Leverage deep knowledge of the business and the drivers of business performance to drive understanding of Lumen's financial performance.
  • Analyze results and explain variance to targets, building insightful reporting to monitor key financial metrics.
  • Streamline existing reporting through tools such as Excel, Power BI, and Power Query.
  • Drive strong partnerships with business stakeholders, ensuring focus on levers and opportunities that will drive results.
  • Communicate effectively to ensure opportunities and risks are understood and addressed in a proactive manner.
  • Collaborate proactively across multiple Lumen finance and business teams to share insights and drive outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance or similar field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of pertinent experience in the technology (or similar) industry.
  • Skilled at financial data analytics and modeling; savvy in solving complicated data and analytical challenges.
  • Demonstrated thought leadership that drives value creation for the business.
  • Effective communicator; effective at building stakeholder relationships.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple deadlines and deliverables.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience as a Finance business partner in the technology industry.
  • Skilled with advanced Microsoft Excel functionality plus other analytical tools (e.g., Power Query, Power BI, SAP, and/or SQL).
