The analyst will also be responsible for analyzing key trends and business levers, both forward-looking and historical, to facilitate informed decision-making. Building insightful reporting to monitor key financial metrics and drivers will be essential, as will streamlining existing reporting processes using tools such as Excel, Power BI, and Power Query. The position requires strong partnerships with business stakeholders, where the analyst will build rapport by understanding their performance and ensuring focus on the levers that drive results. Effective communication is vital to ensure that opportunities and risks are clearly understood and addressed proactively. Additionally, the analyst will collaborate across multiple finance and business teams to share insights and drive outcomes, making this role integral to Lumen's financial strategy and operational success.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct rigorous and innovative financial analysis to generate actionable insights.
  • Leverage deep knowledge of the business and its performance drivers to drive understanding of financial performance.
  • Analyze results and explain variance to targets, building insightful reporting to monitor key financial metrics.
  • Streamline existing reporting processes using tools such as Excel, Power BI, and Power Query.
  • Build strong partnerships with business stakeholders to understand their performance and drive results.
  • Communicate effectively to ensure opportunities and risks are understood and addressed.
  • Collaborate proactively across multiple finance and business teams to share insights and drive outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance or a similar field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of pertinent experience in the technology or similar industry.
  • Skilled at financial data analytics and modeling; adept at solving complex data and analytical challenges.
  • Demonstrated thought leadership that drives value creation for the business.
  • Effective communicator with strong stakeholder relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple deadlines and deliverables.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience as a Finance business partner in the technology industry.
  • Skilled with advanced Microsoft Excel functionality and other analytical tools such as Power Query, Power BI, SAP, and/or SQL.
