About the position

The position is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of a retail department in the absence of the department manager. This includes ensuring associates are trained, the department is fully staffed, and that operations meet company standards and performance indicators. The role involves inventory management, team leadership, and supporting the department manager in various operational tasks.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day activities of the department in the absence of the department manager.
• Order and maintain inventory while utilizing inventory control procedures.
• Review and validate received orders for quality and condition.
• Manage a team to ensure product quality and accurate date-sensitive rotation.
• Maintain familiarity with all products and store promotions.
• Communicate and execute weekly and period Flight Plans to company expectations.
• Support the department manager in scheduling, labor control, and payroll management.
• Implement company core values and competencies.
• Assist in staffing, training, and performance management of associates.
• Attend and participate in daily huddles and meetings as required.
• Maintain a clean and well-stocked department according to company standards.
• Follow all safety and food safety guidelines.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or Equivalent (GED) required.
• 0-2 years of retail experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good organization and prioritization skills.
• Strong leadership abilities in a hands-on environment.
• Good knowledge of retail store operations and management systems.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to communicate in Spanish is highly desirable.
