About the position

The Amazon operations team is looking for Lead Fulfillment Associates with a strong record of achieving results to join the expanding team supporting operations leaders and associates in delivering strong operations results within our fulfillment centers. Lead Fulfillment Associates hold various roles within the Fulfillment Center, which include production duties such as picking and packing orders, receiving and stowing products, ensuring inventory accuracy, and unloading and loading trucks. In addition to these tasks, Lead Fulfillment Associates are responsible for communicating instructions to other associates, motivating them, and maintaining a safe work environment. The roles within the Fulfillment Center vary based on building type and include positions such as Trainer, ISS Representative, Process Assistant, Dock Clerk, Shipping Clerk, Non-Inventory Receiver, Regulated Waste Coordinator/Specialist, Amazon Robotics Quarterback, and Data Analyst. Each of these roles has specific responsibilities that contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the fulfillment operations. For instance, Trainers maintain expert-level knowledge in production departments and assist in the development of training materials, while ISS Representatives facilitate communication between corporate teams and the fulfillment center to resolve issues. Working in an Amazon Fulfillment Center requires a commitment to safety and efficiency. Employees are expected to wear safety gear, adhere to safety protocols, and be prepared for varying noise and temperature levels. The physical demands of the job include the ability to lift up to 49 pounds, stand or walk for shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and perform various physical activities such as pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, and reaching. Responsibilities

  • Pick and pack orders as needed.
  • Receive and stow products to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Unload and load trucks efficiently.
  • Communicate instructions to other associates and motivate them.
  • Maintain a safe work environment for all associates.
  • Evaluate and improve processes within work areas as a Trainer.
  • Assist in measuring the effectiveness of learning and develop training materials.
  • Facilitate resolution of problem items as an ISS Representative.
  • Support daily management of department duties as a Process Assistant.
  • Manage inbound flow and communicate with carriers as a Dock Clerk.
  • Coordinate shipping processes and track packages as a Shipping Clerk.
  • Organize supplies and research missing shipments as a Non-Inventory Receiver.
  • Oversee the Waste Program and ensure compliance as a Regulated Waste Coordinator/Specialist.
  • Monitor robotic field health and lead work dispatch as an Amazon Robotics Quarterback.
  • Provide data and analytical support for ACES initiatives as a Data Analyst.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1+ years of experience with Microsoft Office products and applications.
  • 1+ year of leadership experience directly managing others.
  • 1+ year working in a manufacturing, distribution, warehousing, or large retail environment.
  • Experience with performance metrics and lean process improvement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
  • Ability to lift up to 49 pounds and stand/walk for shifts lasting up to 12 hours.
