About The Position

Join a team with an array of technologies like .NET, Python, Angular, C#, React, Azure, and so much more, while learning and working on Risk and Analytics for Metlife Investments. MetLife Investments is seeking a Lead Software Development Engineer. The ideal candidate will possess strong development and engineering capabilities, communication, collaboration, with hands-on experience implementing Investments and Finance data domains by enabling continuous delivery techniques within cloud infrastructure. Solid understanding of best practices and developer enablement required. The Lead full stack engineer works with the product teams to solution and support various risk applications related to Market, Credit and Counterparty risk. In addition, this role interacts with derivative data warehousing and front office applications. This role is primarily focused on .Net and Cloud technologies with exposure to Java and Python. This individual needs to have a passion for Agile DevOps enabled software development, infrastructure automation to accelerate the team's delivery of business value.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in software development with strong technical understanding of designing and building enterprise scale web-based applications both on-prem and in the Cloud.
• 7-10 years of experience in software development preferably in implementing .Net, Python, Java, React/Angular, and Azure solutions.
• Database skills, Object Oriented Programming, Design Patterns, and development knowledge.
• API-driven solution stack, data processing, reactive architecture.
• DevOps pipelines, and/or Infrastructure automation.
• 5+ years of experience in financial domains related to Risk, Derivatives, Scenario Analysis and Data warehousing.
• Experience in Reference Data, Market Data and Pricing related solutions.

Nice To Haves

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as ability to establish strong relationships across teams.
• Ability to build, deliver and operate complex, cloud-based systems (Azure or AWS).
• Experience with Agile software development.
• Experience with test-driven development and continuous testing.
• Exposure to modern AI concepts such as generative AI, various models of machine learning, large language models, conversational AI.
• Full stack engineer with ability to write object-oriented, self-documenting, maintainable code.
• Background in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or similarly related field.
• Experience with Numerix, Murex, Calypso.

Responsibilities

• Work with product teams to solution and support various risk applications related to Market, Credit and Counterparty risk.
• Interact with derivative data warehousing and front office applications.
• Implement Investments and Finance data domains by enabling continuous delivery techniques within cloud infrastructure.
• Translate business requirements to quality software.
