About the position

Amazon Games is seeking an experienced Lead Game Analyst to coordinate a team of analysts focused on bringing games to market and developing business opportunities. This role involves collaborating with product managers, game designers, and leadership to analyze gaming challenges and provide actionable insights. The Lead Game Analyst will support the team by setting goals, coaching, and mentoring while utilizing analytical tools to drive key business initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Support a team of analysts working on our games by planning, setting goals, coaching, and mentoring.
• Partner with Product Managers to understand players and define game and product goals.
• Use analytical languages and tools like SQL, Redshift, and Tableau to dive deep and answer customer questions.
• Present descriptive and prescriptive metrics and analysis that empower partner teams to make smart decisions about our games.
• Coach and empower partners, peers, and teammates, spreading knowledge of game analytics.
• Own the data narrative and craft the right message for your audience, explaining complex concepts in understandable terms.

Requirements

• 5+ years of Games Industry experience (supporting title Development, Release, or Live Ops)
• 7+ years of SQL experience
• Experience building measures and metrics, and developing reporting solutions
• Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
• Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs
• Passion for gaming

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results
• Experience using Cloud Storage and Computing technologies such as AWS Redshift, S3, Hadoop, etc.
• Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills
• Experience managing, analyzing, and communicating results to senior leadership
