About the position

The Lead Gaming Technician at Owensboro Racing & Gaming is responsible for the day-to-day performance and operation of gaming devices during their assigned shift. This includes maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, installations, and ensuring optimal gaming operation. The technician also plays a key role in providing assistance to players and fostering positive relationships with guests.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day performance and operation of gaming devices during assigned shifts.
• Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on gaming devices.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs and equipment inventory.
• Install gaming devices as needed and manage their movements.
• Provide assistance to players and ensure a positive gaming experience.
• Report and rectify malfunctions quickly to ensure maximum gaming device performance.
• Maintain a thorough knowledge of gaming device technical issues.
• Assist players with instructions on gameplay and understanding gaming devices.
• Maintain a clean and organized gaming floor and work areas.
• Build relationships with guests through meaningful interactions and excellent service.
• Work collaboratively with team members and assist coworkers as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required; certification preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience with gaming device machines or a related field preferred.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid license through the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission (KHRC).
• Proficient in basic computer skills (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Basic knowledge of the mechanical and play functions of gaming device machines preferred.
