About the position

The Lead GIS Operations Analyst is responsible for overseeing the updating and maintenance of electric and gas infrastructure within the Geographic Information System (GIS) at Avangrid. This role requires proficiency in GIS data analysis, ensuring compliance with asset rules, and providing training and mentorship to other analysts. The position is based in Rochester, NY, and involves collaboration with various departments to ensure the accuracy and quality of GIS data.

Responsibilities

• Perform updates to the gas and/or electric Distribution and Transmission GIS models while ensuring compliance with the Asset Rules and company Operating Procedures.
• Verify the accuracy of the SAP Master Data records and work sketches received, initiating the resolution of discrepancies between SAP and the Work Sketches.
• Perform quality control checks of the GIS models.
• Demonstrate proficiency with practices and procedures of other departments as they relate to GIS models.
• Provide oversight of other GIS Operations personnel and Contractors, ensuring work is completed professionally and accurately.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in CADD/GIS related field, or 5 years of work experience with concentration in GIS data analysis and editing, or 3 - 5 years working as an Avangrid GIS Analyst.
• Demonstrated excellence in available CAD and GIS systems.
• Ability to train others in GIS topics.
• Ability to work independently and demonstrate complete proficiency in analyzing and implementing GIS solutions.

• Ability to identify potential problems and develop solutions that meet customer needs.
