About the position

The Lead GIS Operations Analyst is responsible for maintaining and updating the electric and gas infrastructure within the Geographic Information System (GIS) framework. This role involves performing data analysis, ensuring compliance with company procedures, and providing training and mentorship to other analysts. The position requires a strong understanding of GIS data management and the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in data records.

Responsibilities

• Perform updates to the gas and/or electric Distribution and Transmission GIS models while ensuring compliance with the Asset Rules and company Operating Procedures.
• Verify the accuracy of the SAP Master Data records and work sketches received, initiating the resolution of discrepancies between SAP and the Work Sketches.
• Perform quality control checks of the GIS models.
• Demonstrate proficiency with practices and procedures of other departments as they relate to GIS models.
• Provide oversight of GIS Operations personnel and Contractors, ensuring work is completed efficiently and accurately.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in CADD/GIS related field, or 5 years of work experience with concentration in GIS data analysis and editing, or 3 - 5 years working as an Avangrid GIS Analyst.
• Demonstrated excellence in available CAD and GIS systems.
• Ability to train others in GIS topics.
• Ability to work independently and demonstrate proficiency in analyzing and implementing GIS solutions.
