About the position

The Lead Guitarist at City of Life Ministries Inc. is a part-time role focused on enhancing worship experiences through skilled guitar performance. This position requires collaboration with other musicians and vocalists to create a vibrant, Christ-centered worship culture, under the guidance of the Band Lead Musician and Director of Worship.

Responsibilities

• Lead worship through skilled instrumental performance during Sunday morning services and other events such as funerals, weddings, and special events.
• Prepare and perform both traditional and contemporary Gospel music, with an understanding of African American church worship.
• Attend all rehearsals and worship services punctually and professionally, including praise team practices, typically held on Wednesdays.
• Serve with a Christlike attitude and a heart for worship, consistently modeling a positive, encouraging demeanor.

Requirements

• Proficiency in guitar performance.
• Deep knowledge of traditional and contemporary Gospel music.
• 5+ years of experience playing in churches is preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and learn new material as needed.
• Reliable attendance and commitment to rehearsals, services, and special events.
• Willingness to assist vocally when necessary.
• Present and visible at all Sunday Services.
