About the position

As a Lead Hardware Engineer at SEAKR Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in the development of advanced electronics for space applications. This position requires a deep understanding of digital design, particularly with microprocessors, ASICs, FPGAs, and various memory technologies. You will be responsible for developing new architectures and refining existing ones, ensuring that all designs meet the technical requirements set forth by our customers. Your expertise will be crucial in performing detailed reviews of other engineers' designs, providing guidance and mentorship to junior team members, and ensuring that all projects adhere to the highest standards of quality and performance. In this role, you will lead a design team from the initial specification phase through to delivery. This includes hardware board-level design, FPGA design and implementation, simulation, analysis, and testing. You will oversee the design team's efforts during checkout and validation in a lab environment, working closely with team members to ensure full system integration and environmental testing. Your ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders will be essential as you develop requirements and technical interfaces with customers. Your responsibilities will also include digital board design, which encompasses thorough design documentation, completion and review of schematics, participation in signal integrity analysis, and creating and reviewing routing instructions. You will coordinate with layout teams, review layouts, and develop documented test plans to ensure successful debugging and validation of designs. Your problem-solving skills will be put to the test as you tackle lab debug issues using various lab tools such as bench supplies, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers. Experience in completing multiple module designs, including at least one of moderate complexity, is highly desired.
