About the position

The Lead Home Visitor is responsible for delivering high-quality, comprehensive home-based services to children and families enrolled in Bensenville School District 2's Birth to Three Program Home Visit Program. This role also includes partial training and supervision of home visitors. Home Visitors provide intensive case management support to at-risk families, emphasizing the importance of the parent/child connection and the impact on social-emotional health and academic success.

Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of Prevention Initiative (PI) requirements as outlined by the Illinois State Board of Education
  • Supervise and guide home visitors day-to-day responsibilities to ensure quality service delivery
  • Identify and coordinate professional development opportunities in alignment with the PI Implementation Manual
  • Plan and organize parent engagement activities
  • Coordinate with external agencies to meet PI objectives
  • Provide year-round home visiting services to 8-10 families, conducting visits 2-3 times per month
  • Select, develop, and prepare appropriate instructional material using the BabyTALK curriculum
  • Conduct developmental screenings and assessments
  • Assist families in accessing community resources based on Family Needs Assessment and ongoing family interactions
  • Participate in recruitment efforts through the attendance of outreach events occurring at numerous times and locations throughout the school year
  • Collaborate with community partners to address service gaps, and connect families to resources
  • Track, develop and report on outcomes in the Individualized Family Services Plans (IFSPs)
  • Participate in regular reflective supervision

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, education, psychology or a related social service field
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with others
  • Experience working with economically disadvantaged children and families
  • Ability to read, write and speak in Spanish
  • Computer Literacy
  • Valid Drivers License
