About the position

The Lead HRIS Analyst at Princeton University plays a crucial role in supporting the Human Resources Systems, particularly the PeopleSoft HCM system, and will be involved in the ERP readiness and cloud migration projects. This position is responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of HR processes, data analytics, and system enhancements, while maintaining the integrity and compliance of employee data. The analyst will collaborate with various stakeholders to improve HR processes and support the overall HRIS strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Develops process improvements or re-engineers and recommends changes; develops business requirements, integrates new systems and processes with existing ones.
  • Collaborates closely with systems users and business owners to identify and prioritize requests, key initiatives and corresponding system enhancements.
  • Serves as subject matter expert for PeopleSoft and other HCM systems, maintaining effective system utilization and accuracy.
  • Leads or participates in multiple projects that streamline current HR processes, managing project scope and ensuring efficient delivery of project tasks.
  • Communicates process and systems changes to other areas within HR and develops user procedures, guidelines, and documentation.
  • Recommends process/customer service improvements, innovative solutions, and policy changes.
  • Increases HRIS knowledge through participation in user groups, webcasts, and trainings.
  • Analyzes current business processes and data across the employee lifecycle, making recommendations for enhanced efficiency and productivity.
  • Maintains awareness of current HR systems trends and makes recommendations for service delivery and support.
  • Serves as a key liaison with internal stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of functional HR knowledge, including HRIS experience or working as an HRIS business analyst.
  • Human Resources Systems ERP implementations and upgrade experience required (PeopleSoft HCM or systems migrations to other ERP or cloud systems).
  • Experience in SDLC for HCM projects.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong functional/technical skills including advanced experience with Excel.
  • Excellent understanding of HR practices, reporting needs, data analysis, and data audit.
  • Demonstrated fluency in business processes and process differentiation.
  • Exceptional customer service, organization, and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information responsibly and accurately.
  • BA/BS in technology or related work experience required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Cognos Analytics and/or Tableau experience.
  • Experience with cloud product integrations with PeopleSoft.
  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft department security structure.
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud or Workday ERP.
  • Human Resources Professional certification.
  • Prior experience at a University.
