About the position

The Lead Human Resources Specialist (Military) at the Department of Defense is responsible for providing comprehensive administrative operational support to Soldiers. This role involves advising and counseling employees on work-related and administrative matters, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines, and assisting in performance management processes. The specialist will also plan and prioritize work for subordinates, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the HR operations within the military context.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day administrative operational support for assigned Soldiers.
  • Advise, counsel, or instruct employees on work and administrative matters.
  • Direct employees to ensure understanding of regulatory guidelines and operational directives.
  • Assist in developing performance standards, counseling, and appraisals.
  • Plan and prioritize work for subordinates, preparing schedules for completion.

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance.
  • One year of specialized experience in human resources regulations and policies, military personnel actions, and training subordinates, or a Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Ability to prepare reports or briefings for management and supervisors.
