About the position

The Lead Human Resources Specialist is responsible for program planning, administration, implementation, and evaluation within the Department of the Army. This role involves leading a team of technical specialists, providing guidance, and ensuring effective execution of HR programs to enhance customer service and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and participate in work performed by a team of technical specialists and support personnel.
  • Coach, facilitate, and solve work problems while participating in the work of the team.
  • Monitor, review, and report on work status and progress.
  • Identify and sponsor innovations and improvements to programs to increase customer service, achieve efficiencies, and reduce costs.
  • Prepare reports, maintain records, and provide information to the supervisor on team and individual performance.

Requirements

  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service, including providing technical advice in various HR program areas to management officials.
  • Experience leading a team in the development, execution, evaluation, and oversight of civilian HR programs.
  • Ability to brief senior leadership on civilian personnel programs and establish program goals.
