About the position
The Lead HVDC Project Controller is responsible for overseeing project delivery, managing profit and loss accountability, and ensuring customer satisfaction for HVDC projects. This role involves planning and executing project-related activities, maintaining schedules, and collaborating with various teams to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. The position requires a strong focus on project management and the ability to adapt procedures to meet quality and timeliness standards.
Responsibilities
- Support the Lead Project Controls in executing HVDC projects according to strategy.
- Deliver planning and costing for HVDC scope of work as part of overall project work.
- Develop tender schedules and manage schedule risks.
- Maintain a single project schedule integrating inputs from all functions and third parties.
- Ensure proper linkages in the schedule to show interdependencies between parties.
- Collaborate with the project planning team for optimal schedule alignment.
- Deliver high-quality schedules aligned with global standards.
- Drive regular project team meetings to review schedule status.
- Provide schedule analysis to forecast risks and opportunities.
- Generate 'what if' scenarios to optimize execution and evaluate feasibility.
- Communicate regular status updates and contractually required customer reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college or a high school diploma/GED with at least 6 years of relevant experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in planning large turnkey projects.
- Experience in cost controlling on at least 2 large turnkey projects.
- Ability and willingness to travel 10% of the time.
