About the position

The Lead Infrastructure Architect at Highmark Health plays a pivotal role in the planning, design, and architecture development for the IT infrastructure team. This position is responsible for creating a comprehensive blueprint of the network of systems and technological components within the organization. The architect will lead the design of IT architecture that aligns with business objectives, ensuring the integrity of complex architectures and acting as a solution architect for significant projects. This role requires collaboration with IT stakeholders to assess the health of the IT estate and evaluate current and upcoming technology requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic consultation to business customers in defining or designing business processes and organizational structures.
  • Facilitate the development of complex enterprise business solutions combining business processes and technological options.
  • Specify and design large or complex systems, solutions, networks, and infrastructure elements.
  • Lead reviews of system designs to ensure appropriate technology selection and resource efficiency.
  • Establish policies for the selection of architecture components and evaluate major design options.
  • Use tools to develop complex architectures and produce detailed component requirements and specifications.
  • Identify and lead significant improvement programs to achieve measurable business benefits.
  • Resolve architecture and business problems and serve as a technical lead for complex projects.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and manage expectations of stakeholders.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of specific technical aspects in the area of expertise and provide expert advice.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or closely related field.
  • 7 years in an IT discipline.
  • 7 years in a Business discipline.
