About the position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Infrastructure Engineer to join the IMS systems programming team. This role involves driving the strategy and direction of the IMS environment, focusing on version upgrades, patching, configuration management, and supporting IMS customers. The engineer will lead complex initiatives, evaluate software solutions, and ensure the infrastructure meets business application needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex initiatives to develop infrastructure solutions for business applications.
• Participate in projects aimed at improving or upgrading the infrastructure.
• Evaluate internal and external software solutions to meet architecture goals.
• Review and analyze high impact outages to prevent future issues.
• Design, build, deploy, and maintain infrastructure solutions in collaboration with the team and vendors.
• Design, code, test, debug, and document programs using Agile practices.
• Make decisions on technical designs and implementation plans, identifying project risks and resource needs.
• Direct daily risk and control operations, focusing on policies and procedures.
• Recommend actions to maintain cost-effectiveness and achieve results.
• Collaborate with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals.
• Interact with customers and vendors.

Requirements

• 5+ years of Technology Infrastructure Engineering and Solutions experience.
• 5+ years of z/OS experience.
• 5+ years of IMS System Programming experience.
• 5+ years of JCL (Job Control Language) experience.

Nice-to-haves

• 5+ years of REXX programming experience.
• 5+ years of Assembler programming experience.
• 5+ years of SMP/E experience.
• 5+ years of TSO (Time Sharing Options) experience.
• 5+ years of creating and supporting ISPF panels and skeleton JC.
• Prior usage and/or support of IBM's IIDR Replication Product for IMS.
• Experience with zOS Unix System Services.
