We are excited to announce our new offices at 2 North Central Ave., Phoenix, which is more centrally located. Nuclear Power is a carbon-free energy source. Our nuclear power generation clients are digitizing their existing power plants and building new nuclear power plants, including small modular reactors (SMR). This expansion is creating new opportunities within the Instrumentation and Controls Engineering group. In this role, you will be engaged in major process controls engineering projects that encompass a variety of critical areas including design, operational excellence, safety, maintenance, and project management. This position will provide you with the opportunity to direct technical decision-making within a collaborative project team environment, working alongside other engineers and designers who are involved in the design, modification, and analysis of both new and existing power plant control systems, particularly focusing on digital upgrades. You will face challenging assignments that require you to investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve a wide range of instrumentation and controls engineering issues. Your responsibilities will include coordinating systems design activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and client requirements. You will perform Digital Systems Design Development, which includes PLC, DCS, HSI, and networked computer systems for nuclear plant systems. This entails preparing functional system requirement specifications, conducting quality assessments, and executing critical digital reviews. Additionally, you will engage in consulting-level work for digital IoT, innovation, and strategic first-of-a-kind (FOAK) projects within the nuclear industry. You will also prepare and review detailed calculations, including scaling, uncertainty, and setpoint calculations for both analog and digital controls applications. Documentation preparation for design input for drawing production, including cable block diagrams and schematics, will be part of your duties. You will interface with vendors and prepare and review equipment purchase specifications, as well as prepare reports and studies that present technical information clearly and concisely to meet client requirements. Furthermore, you will conduct independent reviews of work performed by others, including calculations and drawing preparation, and attend client meetings and site walkdowns to validate scope and ensure client satisfaction. Support for station outage activities will also be required as needed. This position is based on a hybrid work schedule, requiring in-office work three days per week.
